Smart Devices, Installed Right

From the Box to Your Wall, Working Before We Leave

Smart home devices promise convenience, security, and energy savings — but only if they're installed correctly. A smart lock with a misaligned deadbolt will jam. A video doorbell mounted at the wrong angle captures more sky than visitors. A thermostat wired incorrectly can damage your HVAC system. The device itself is just part of the equation. The installation is what makes it work.

We handle the physical installation of smart home devices — mounting, wiring, and basic configuration. We're not home automation integrators setting up complex routines across multiple ecosystems. We're the people who make sure your smart lock turns smoothly, your doorbell sees the porch clearly, and your thermostat connects to your Wi-Fi and controls the right equipment.

Smart Devices We Install

  • Smart locks and keypad deadbolts — August, Schlage Encode, Yale Assure, Kwikset Halo, Eufy, and others. We remove your existing deadbolt, install the smart lock, align the strike plate so the bolt throws smoothly, calibrate the lock mechanism, and help you pair it with your phone. See our smart lock installation in Glendale page for area-specific info.
  • Video doorbells — Ring, Nest, Arlo, Eufy, Wyze. Wired installations (using existing doorbell wiring) and battery-powered mounting. We set the correct angle, wedge if needed, connect to existing chime wiring, and help you complete the app setup.
  • Smart thermostats — Nest, Ecobee, Honeywell, Amazon Smart Thermostat. We remove the old thermostat, label wires, install the new backplate, connect wires to the correct terminals, mount the display, and configure basic settings. We verify the system turns on and responds to temperature changes before leaving.
  • Smart home hubs and speakers — Wall or shelf mounting for smart displays (Echo Show, Nest Hub), Wi-Fi extenders, and mesh router nodes. Cable management included.
  • Smart sensors — Door/window sensors, motion sensors, water leak sensors. Placement and mounting, not full security system configuration.

Smart Home Installation Process

  1. Text photos of what you bought — The device box, the door or wall where it's going, and any existing hardware (old deadbolt, old thermostat, existing doorbell). Send to +1 (323) 212-0457.
  2. We quote a flat rate — A single smart lock or doorbell fits the $179 Service Call. Multiple devices around the home fits $369 Home Fix. A full smart home setup (locks, doorbell, thermostat, sensors) fits $899 Multi-Task.
  3. We install and configure — Mechanical installation first (the part that requires tools and skill), then basic app pairing so the device is functional before we step out.
  4. We walk you through it — Lock/unlock demo, doorbell live view check, thermostat mode change. You know how to use what we installed.

Why Professional Smart Home Installation Matters

A smart lock installed with a slightly misaligned strike plate will work for a week and then start grinding, draining the batteries and eventually locking you out. A thermostat with the C-wire connected to the wrong terminal can short your HVAC control board — a repair that costs far more than professional installation. A video doorbell mounted too high or low misses visitors entirely. These aren't tech problems — they're installation problems. Getting the physical installation right makes the smart features reliable.

We don't sell the devices and we're not affiliated with any brand. Our only interest is making sure what you bought works as intended, on your door, on your wall, in your home.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a C-wire for a smart thermostat?

Many smart thermostats require a C-wire for continuous power. If your existing thermostat wiring doesn't include a C-wire, some models include an adapter. We can assess during the estimate. If no C-wire is possible and the thermostat requires one, we'll let you know before starting.

Will a smart lock fit my door?

Most smart locks replace standard deadbolts with a 2-1/8" bore hole and standard backset. If your door has non-standard prep, we'll tell you during the estimate. We can handle minor adjustments like strike plate realignment.

Do you set up the smart home apps and accounts?

We help with initial pairing — connecting the device to your phone via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi and completing the basic setup wizard. We don't create accounts or configure complex automation routines. You'll be prompted to log in to your own account during setup.

Can you install a video doorbell without existing wiring?

Yes — we install battery-powered video doorbells that don't require existing doorbell wiring. We mount the bracket, attach the doorbell, and help with app setup. For wired installations, we use the existing doorbell wiring and transformer.

What if my existing deadbolt hole doesn't align perfectly?

Minor alignment issues can be corrected by adjusting the strike plate or slightly enlarging the strike plate recess. For significant misalignment, the door or frame may need work beyond our scope — we'll advise you if that's the case.
